These words may sound cliché, but Parabellum: Siege of Legends has proven that medieval strategy games can still feel fresh and engaging. Developed by Studio Baikin and published by Plug In Digital, the game was officially released for PC in May 2025 and is now also available on mobile platforms (iOS & Android). If you're a fan of games like Kingdom or Stronghold, get ready to fall in love (and possibly get frustrated) with this one.
**Story: Three Nations, One Prophecy**
The world of Parabellum is divided into three major regions, each with its unique character. There's The Highlands, a religious empire with fertile land; the Sultanate of Basse-Terre, a desert kingdom with advanced iron culture and industry; and the Ice Lands, a cold nation filled with warring clans.
Amidst the chaos and political conflict, an ancient prophecy emerges about a woman who will unite the three nations under one banner. You'll control several different heroes, each with their own storyline, ambitions, and moral burdens.
The story in Parabellum is not just a decoration. It drives the motivation and conflict in the gameplay. Every victory and defeat has a narrative consequence that feels real.
**Gameplay: Not Just Build and Attack**
In general, Parabellum: Siege of Legends is a real-time strategy game that combines city building, resource management, and siege defense in one solid package.
You'll start by building a city: organizing farms, preparing the economy, and strengthening the fort. But behind all this, you'll also need to think about balance: are your people well-fed? Is the tax too high? Is your army ready for the next invasion?
Every decision has a real impact. A misstep in managing the economy can bankrupt your kingdom, while focusing too much on the military can leave your people starving. This is what makes Parabellum feel alive, ... and sometimes, cruel.
The campaign missions are designed with interesting variations. There are survival missions against massive attacks, building an economy from scratch after a war, and conquering new territories with limited resources. With over ten main missions, each chapter brings a different challenge and rhythm.
