**INMOST** is a puzzle platformer with a light metroidvania touch and a cinematic horror atmosphere. In it, we play as three different characters: a mysterious man exploring ruins filled with secrets, a knight battling shadowy creatures, and a little girl trapped in a quiet old house.
Initially, these characters seem unrelated, but their stories eventually intertwine in both painful and beautiful ways. The narrative is not presented outright; instead, it unfolds through fragments of scenes, symbols, and meaningful dialogue. Themes of loss, sacrifice, and redemption resonate strongly, prompting reflection long after the final black screen fades.
Some players may find the symbolic and metaphor-laden narrative confusing. However, this is where the game's strength lies—**INMOST** does not provide all the answers; it invites us to interpret it for ourselves.
### **Gameplay: Slow, Yet Meaningful**
The gameplay is simple but varied. When playing as the man, there's more emphasis on exploration and puzzle-solving; as the knight, the game transforms into stylish action with swordplay and a grappling hook; and while controlling the girl, the pace slows down, allowing the atmosphere and emotions to breathe.
Each segment is designed to support the story, with no action feeling forced. The puzzles demand attention, but they are not overly complex. The variation among the three characters keeps the gameplay rhythm fresh. No part feels "empty"; each has its own emotional purpose.
### **Level Design: Gloomy, Yet Beautiful**
One of **INMOST**'s greatest strengths is its level design and atmosphere. Each world feels like a fragment of a shattered dream, from crumbling mazes and dark woods to silent houses, all enveloped in dramatic lighting and cool colors. The pixel art style is exceptionally detailed, featuring light and shadow effects that create an emotional depth rarely found in similar games.
Exploration offers a rewarding experience, whether through small secrets or hidden collectibles. However, the slow gameplay pace and heavy character movement might cause some players to feel "stalled." But if you enjoy a gloomy and mysterious atmosphere, this tempo makes it feel more alive and real.
